Soundproofing Plus: Creating Soundproof Walls with Peacemaker

Creating Soundproof Walls with Peacemaker

A short time ago, I got a little love note from my homeowner’s association, and I have our supposedly soundproof walls to thank.

I don’t make it a habit to cause neighborhood problems, but I was perfectly justified in thinking that a little musical noise would not disturb my neighbors. After all, one of the selling points of our shared-wall townhouse was the “soundproof walls”: thick drywall, cinderblock, and insulated airspace.

Well … wrong. As I’m sure many of you know (or have found out), shared walls are usually as soundproof as wet bread, and next thing I know I’m reading a notice that calls me out for sound “in excess of community standards,” according to my neighbors to the north.

Granted, not everyone’s situation is like mine. Sometimes, it’s just voices, or the television sound that leaks over from the next house, but the principle is the same: Soundproof walls require more than ordinary construction can provide.

Enter Audimute Peacemaker. Peacemaker is designed to seriously enhance the soundproofing of interior surfaces. It’s easily installed with a little know-how, which is why we’ve put together this video on wall layering installation. For more information on what Peacemaker can do for you, call 866-505-MUTE (6883) and let Audimute take stock of your unique situation.

As for my unique situation … now that my neighbors have thoughtfully pointed out the flaws in our building design, I’ll be joining the crowd of satisfied Peacemaker users. Just soon as I get my wife’s approval. Wish me luck.
